So a friend of mine stumbled on this website and I've got to say its pretty cool. iwl.me/What you do is post a block of something you've written in the box and click the analyze button. Then the website does something that must be magic, and tells you what author you write similar to. For prose I've gotten Stephen King and Edgar Allan Poe. As for poetry, I'm not really sure how reliable it is, because it just goes all over the place.

Very cool indeed. I'd like to see the factors that play into each writer's criteria.
I got William Gibson, three for three, though I've never heard of him before.

So far, I haven't gotten it to repeat an author. Evidently, I write like David Foster Wallace, Cory Doctorow, Stephen King, Edgar Allan Poe, Chuck Palahniuk, and Robert Louis Stevenson.
Then again, I have been throwing in a mix of journalistic writing, poetry, prose, and screenplays. Maybe that has something to do with it.
